Walkthrough God of War: Ascension Part 5 (Chapters 26 -30)

Chapter 26: Eyes of Apollo

Drop down, then jump on the large white block in the middle of the room. Grab the stone on top, and push it off and get off yourself. This raises the white block up. DO NOT GET THE GREEN ORB CHESTS, or at least not right away. You will have plenty of enemies coming up, specifically Minotaurs, witches and warlock dudes.

Kill them all, using the green orb chests when your health starts to run out. After, grab the stepping stone and push it to the left. Jump up to get the red orb chests and pull the lever by the
light. Jump off this area back down to the arena. Grab the stepping stone and push it all the way right. Jump up to get the red orb chest, then climb the ladder up.

There are Gorgon's Eye/Phoenix Feather chests up here. Go to the left and get on the conveyor belt. Create a Kratos clone to ride the conveyor belt, and quickly hop back down. Get over to the left side and find the chain to pull. Start yanking to pull out a cradle for the white block to rest in.

If you timed it right, your clone should be landing on the white block now, dropping it into the cradle. This lowers a ladder directly next to you. Climb it up to get to a cutscene. You end up in the lantern with an enemy to fight, so kill him off. Go forward once all enemies are dead and get to a long cutscene.

Chapter 27: The Lantern of Delos
Go back to the door, and crack it open. When you do this, a handle will drop down from the cage surrounding the Eyes of Truth. Go over to it, and pull the handle backwards. At the furthest point back, create a Kratos Clone then go through the portal.

Chapter 28: Trial of Archimedes

The Trial of Archimedes is undoubtedly the hardest chapter in God of War: Ascension. It features three waves of very challenging enemies with no save points and no green orb chests. You are going to have to bring your A game and a few magic attacks if you want to pass the Trials.

Start

Go immediately upwards to get the Gorgon Eye/Phoenix Feather/red orb chests. Now, go past the center cage and crack open the huge doors on the other side. This gives you access to the Eyes of Truth.

The platform you are on now descends into the ground. Go to the front and use the Eyes of Truth to clear out the Furies' Magic, then grapple with it to free the platform.
The section is broken into three waves, with further multiple waves of enemies within each. There are no checkpoints or health and magic re-gens, so you have to get through everything in one go. Before it kicks off make sure you've upgraded the Blades of Chaos to maximum.

Wave One

This is the hardest of the three waves, with Gorgons and witches making a deadly combination. First up, there are two gorgons to kill – the trick is to knock them both down so the red ‘execute’ bar is above their heads at the same time, rather than killing them off one at a time. Use a magic attack if necessary but no more than one – you’ll need them shortly. When you kill of one of the gorgons, another appears; kill the other and it’s replaced too, along with witches. You need to deal with these quickly – use magic as much as you can and make sure you hit every enemy with every attack.

Keep moving and watch out for both the electricity attacks and the Gorgon’s stare, because if you’re caught in mid-air you’ll turn to stone and shatter when you hit the ground, which is instant game over. Also use Shadow Kratos as as frequently as you can and freeze enemies using the Amulet, before going in for the kill. If all goes well you should dispense with all of the enemies with around half your health bar still intact and, hopefully, some magic left over.

Wave Two

The Amazons present the biggest challenge here – be ready to counter their attacks with a quick QTE button press and again use Shadow Kratos is keep the pressure on. If you have any magic left be sure to use it now. When the Amazons have died turn your focus to the harpies – these guys are pretty easy to kill off, just use the Cyclone of Fury and Falling Helios attacks (double-jump, hold square and then hold triangle). When fire blast makes it trickier to move around simply wait for the flames to die down before nipping past.
An electricity knight will then appear – the best plan is to keep your distance and let Shadow Kratos chip away at its health, attacking occasionally from afar before backing away to avoiding its club. You will need to dodge past it at some point – again, wait for the flames to die down and jump past both the knight and the firewall at the same time. Repeat this process until you’re able to execute the knight using its own weapon. Wave Two has the only health in the whole sequence, so make sure you get the red grapple bar above the Amazons. A proper kill will net you some green orbs.

Wave Three

Oddly, the third and final wave is the easiet. A centaur appears first and is a cinch to kill - simply use the Cyclone of Fury and Falling Helios moves (double-jump and at the top of the arc hold square, then hold triangle to continue the attack lower on the ground). You’ll then have to fight three Wraiths – again, the ever-useful Cyclone of Fury-Falling Helio combo works a treat and with a little perseverance you’ll make it through.

Now you are at the top of the Lantern again. Grab the blue and green orb chests, then go over to the big double doors and close them. Walk to the center cage and use the Eyes of Truth to clear out the Fury barrier. Pull the lever that you uncover all the way to the right, then use a Kratos clone to hold the dome in place.

Run out through the blue door now, using the Eyes of Truth to clear the way. Once through the portal, the platform you are on lowers into the ground. Walk forward and to the right to find the Antikythera Mechanism. Open the door on the far side of the room for a long cutscene.
Artifact Location
Antikythera Mechanism can be found after beating the Trial of Archemedes elevator section. Once at the top, go to the right to find it.

Chapter 29: The Fury Citadel

Use the grapple chain to pull all the way back. Use a Kratos clone to hold it in place, then run to the green grapple point that you moved over.

Grapple on it, and get rid of your clone to be swung out past the gate. Fight the two monsters who spawn, then use the Amulet to heal the stairs up to the big door. Once you get there, go into the door for a big cutscene. Keep your hands on the controller though, as there are QTEs in the cutscene.

Chapter 30: Alecto's Chamber

Run forward to the Furies. There is another partially interactive cutscene here, so when prompted, walk forward. Use the Eyes of Truth to clear out the barrier that pops up. This triggers another scene.

You are now outside in the ocean. When you make it to a boat, kill all the enemies that pop up, giving more focus to the Fury who is attacking you with her bird thing. The boat is now held up by giant tentacles. Use the Eyes of Truth to clear out the barrier, then attack the tentacle until a grapple bar appears over it. If you get covered in the black slime-tar, use the Oath Stone to create a Kratos clone to get free. After the first grapple point, the tentacle adjusts to further back on the ship so continue with the same strategy.

After the second grapple, there are a ton of QTEs coming. Eventually, you will get to green grapple points so be prepared to swing around. After that, you employ a new tactic. Hold L2 and R2 then release to tear the tentacle right open. Follow the QTEs after that and you get dumped out onto a platform.
The Hydra has a few attacks, and all are prompted by glowing tentacles. When you see two on the left, a black goo attack is coming so be prepared with your Oath Stone. If all 4 are glowing and poised, run to the back and jump to dodge the tentacles and their shockwaves. When there are two on the right, they are coming in for a swipe attack so dodge or jump out of the way.

Grab the spear on the platform to toss at the monster. After a few good hits on the head, the bird Fury comes back as well. Continue fighting both Furies now. A good tactic is to double jump in the air, hold Square, then hold Triangle. This combo is a life saver.

Eventually, a red grapple bar will appear over the Hydra's head. This will launch into a very long QTE sequence. After impaling the gash in the Hydra's head, you end up on the platform again. Walk forward to the Fury for another Quick Time Event sequence. Once she's gone, grapple with the last Fury when the red grapple bar appears. Sit back and enjoy the ending!
